Preserving the history of Shasta County takes resources and the National Park Service provides those resources based on guidance from the State Office of Historic Preservation. They produce a new state plan every 5 years and the current plan expires at the end of 2017. In order to make Shasta County a significant part of that plan, public input is needed. Listening sessions are planned for cities throughout the state and the first of the sessions will be held in Redding this Thursday. Area residents are encouraged to attend the session and bring their ideas. It’ll be at Old City Hall from 10AM to Noon on Thursday. More details and a link to RSVP can be found at shastahistorical.org.
