Siskiyou County officials say they’re sure now that a body found in Red Bluff is that of a missing Yreka man. What they don’t know is how he got there. 79-year-old Trygve “Karl” Larson lived in a Yreka-area trailer park and was known to go for frequent walks in the country around Yreka. On January 19th Larson’s family reported they hadn’t seen or heard from him in four days. On January 26th a body was pulled out of the Sacramento River in Red Bluff. The body had been in the water for several days so it took an autopsy to confirm the identity. It’s a bit of a puzzle how Larson got from Yreka to the Lower Sacramento River. The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department is hoping for the family’s sake that whoever gave him a ride will come forward and shed light on the mystery.
