Vandals Ransack Veterans Museum Storage Building

About $24,000 worth of goods was taken from a storage building at the future site of the Northern California Veterans Museum in Anderson. Director Rob Burroughs says the theft occurred last week during a torrential downpour. The thief or thieves apparently ransacked the place overturning boxes and breaking glass before leaving. They also left a door open which allowed rainwater to come in destroying any fingerprints or other evidence that might have been left behind. Among the items stolen were woodworking tools and oxygen tanks which were going to be sold to help pay for the museum which will sit on Rhonda Road adjacent to Interstate Five. Burroughs says none of the items were set to be on display at the museum and while this is a setback, the museum is on track for a groundbreaking later this year.
