Six Cited During Search Of Drug House

One thing led to another for Anderson Police, who say they discovered a drug house on the northern outskirts of town. Wednesday afternoon an APD Officer was patrolling Spring Gulch Road when he saw a suspicious-looking car parked in front of a home and ran the license plate number. Records showed the car had been stolen from Redding. A man was walking briskly away from the car toward the back of the house as the officer pulled into the driveway. Other Anderson Officers, along with Redding Police and a CHP helicopter came to help look for the man. As a perimeter was being set up, several people came out of the home and they were detained. The resident listed for the home is 40-year-old Cory Crews. He’s on felony probation, so the place was searched. That flushed out more people, who also were detained. Police say every one of them was known because of their histories with thefts and drugs and the house and numerous outbuildings all contained heroin-related paraphernalia. A time-consuming series of interviews was done to figure out who had been driving the stolen car, but that could not be determined. The car was impounded and 6 people were cited for being present at a drug house. Charges against Cory Crews are pending a review by the D.A.’s Office.
