A couple in the Intermountain area of Shasta County face several serious felonies for their alleged brutal abuse of a 4-year-old girl. On January 9th Kaitlyn Gift made a 9-1-1 call to report that her step-daughter was unresponsive. The little girl was transported to Mayers Memorial Hospital and then flown to U.C. Davis Medical Center. She was suffering a brain bleed and had bruises all over her body. Shasta County Sheriff’s detectives determined that gift had inflicted the injuries. She was arrested Thursday and is in jail on a half-million dollars bail. Aaron Bradshaw also was arrested and charged with allowing the abuse to happen. The 4-year-old girl is still at U.C. Davis struggling to recover.
