Redding Police have been in a lengthy standoff at the Shadowbrook Apartments on Hartnell Avenue Friday afternoon. Officers have closed Hartnell between Alta Mesa and Victor. They believe that 41-year-old Michael Felsch is inside one of the apartments. Felsch was involved in a standoff at a house near the east end of Loma Vista Drive a few weeks ago. That standoff lasted about 10 hours, and after lobbing multiple tear gas canisters into the house it was discovered that Felsch was not inside. Shasta Meadows Elementary School, located a couple of blocks north of today’s police activity, has been put on a soft lockdown. Felsch was on the January 9th list of Shasta County’s Most Wanted after a conviction for carrying a concealed gun.
