The union that represents about a thousand Shasta County employees who were on strike a month ago have reached a contract agreement with the county. UPEC Local 792 says the board of supervisors approved a 3 year 8 month contract Tuesday morning. The retiree administrative fee will be phased out and an 8% pay raise will be phased in. A five day strike the week of January 30th was done to call attention to the fact that the unit had been working without a contract since last April.
