Suspected Carjacker Arrested In Mary Lake Subdivision

A Redding parolee accused of repeated carjackings was captured over the weekend. On February 24th someone on Twin View Boulevard reported that 38-year-old Jesse James King had brandished a handgun and taken the victim’s car. The car was recovered the next day, but King remained at large. Last Thursday another victim reported their car stolen by King. A handgun was seen but wasn’t used in the theft. The car was recovered the same day but, again, King was not found. On Saturday Redding Police learned that King was at a home on Dartmouth Drive. Officers staked out the home and when King started to drive away at 5 O’clock, a high-risk traffic stop was done and King was arrested. Inside the car officers say they found drugs for sale and two replica handguns. King was on Post Release Community Supervision. He’s being held without bail.
