Bosenko Lifts Ban On Recreational River Usage

The Sacramento River has been re-opened for recreational use. During the heavy rains the releases from Keswick Dam reached a peak of 83,000 cubic feet per second, causing widespread flooding and creating very hazardous conditions on the river. The sheriff’s office reminds boaters that it’s still a dangerous situation, with swift currents and a lot of extra debris, both on the water and just beneath the surface. Releases from Keswick Dam are currently at around 31,000 cubic feet per second. The Bureau of Reclamation will gradually decrease the releases to around 13,000 CFS by Saturday.
