February’s unemployment rate for Shasta County is the best rate ever recorded. The 7.1% is down 3-tenths from January and down 9-tenths from last February. The worst February on record was in 2010 when it was 18.5%. The low jobless rate is genuine good news and doesn’t appear to be an numbers anomaly because the labor force grew by 1100.California’s unemployment rate fell to 5 percent in February. It was 5.2% nationwide.
