No names have been released in connection to a shootout involving Anderson Police Sunday night. At around 9:30PM four officers were at the Anderson Motel 6 on McMurray Drive doing an unspecified criminal investigation when one of them was reportedly fired upon. He was struck, but the bullet did not penetrate because of his protective Kevlar vest. The suspect was killed by return fire, according to Anderson Police Chief Michael Johnson. All four officers who were present are now on administrative leave.
