2 Arrested After Overnight Chase

A blown tail light led to a car chase overnight in Redding. Just before 11 O’clock Wednesday night a sheriff’s deputy tried to pull over a car on Beltline Road but the car accelerated away and a chase began. There were 4 people in the car and 2 of them jumped out as the car turned from Beltline onto Caterpillar Road. They ran away and were not found. The car chase continued into Redding with the driver disregarding red lights and stop signs. The pursuit headed down Churn Creek Bottom to Knighton Road, and then back northbound on Interstate Five. A CHP Officer laid down a spike strip on the freeway and punctured one of the front tires, but the car continued onto westbound Cypress on the rim, then south on Hartnell as far as Parkview, where it finally stopped. The driver, Kolbie McLearn, had a felony warrant and 3 misdemeanor warrants. He was arrested on those and charged with felony evading for the chase that covered more than 20 miles. The passenger, Amanda Duman, was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant.
