Woman Sentenced To Jail Term After Chase Through Red Bluff

A Red Bluff woman has been given a jail sentence after being chased by police, apparently while suicidal. The woman had told somebody that she was going to drive her car head-on into a big rig, and that person contacted Red Bluff Police. An officer spotted the distraught woman’s car on Walnut Street, but she saw the officer too and accelerated through a red light. The officer chased her with lights and siren on for about ten minutes through Downtown Red Bluff and then onto Interstate 5. She reached about 85 miles an hour and swerved in front of a big rig, but then apparently changed her mind and exited at Wilcox. She’s been sentenced to 4 months in jail and 80 hours community service.
