EAA Brings B17 Flying Fortress To Redding

One of the greatest machines in human history is in Redding for the weekend, and it’s taking on passengers. A real B-17 Flying Fortress from the World War Two era is at the Jet Center of Redding Municipal Airport. Of the original 12,700 B-17s, only a dozen remain airworthy. The “Aluminum Overcast” has been beautifully restored by the Experimental Aircraft Association. Flights are offered Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Ground tours are offered as well. More details are at b17.org.
