Highway 299 near Big Bar in Trinity County was blocked for much of the night by spilled beer. That’s 47,000 pounds of spilled beer. A big rig overturned a little before 6 O’clock Sunday night. The driver was uninjured but an unknown amount of diesel spilled before it was dammed up by emergency responders. The truck completely blocked the westbound lane and the entire highway was closed several times for cleanup, and for righting the tractor-trailer. The highway finally was completely cleared a little before 3AM.
