A dead body has been discovered in a house near Mount Shasta, and the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office is treating it as a homicide for now. An anonymous call was made to the sheriff’s office Thursday asking that a welfare check be done on a person in a house on Big Canyon Drive. A deputy discovered the dead body. Although there were no signs of a struggle or foul play, the major crimes unit is gathering evidence to determine the manner of death. No information has been released about the victim.
