A Redding house was destroyed by fire Tuesday morning. Multiple 9-1-1 calls were made at around 8:30AM to report a large column of black smoke coming from the Mountain View Drive neighborhood east of Interstate 5 and north of Highway 299. When engine 8 arrived a few minutes later the house on Sierra Drive was fully involved in fire and a second alarm was quickly called, bringing all the city’s resources. The residents weren’t home when the fire started and nobody was hurt. The cause is being investigated.
