Over 30-Thousand Pot Plants Raided From National Forests

An enormous amount of marijuana was seized in a series of raids in the Shasta-Trinity and Six Rivers National Forests. The operations were done from the 5th through the 10th by Forest Service with assistance from the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office and State Campaign Against Marijuana Planting. More than 30,400 marijuana plants were destroyed and crews removed 1450 pounds of garbage, a half-mile of black plastic water piping, guns and hazardous pesticides. Three men from Mexico were arrested, one of them after being apprehended by a Trinity County Sheriff’s K-9. They were booked into jail on a long list of charges.
