Lassen County Wildfire Grows To Over 80-Thousand Acres

A fast-moving fire in the sagelands of Eastern Lassen County is not showing any signs of slowing down. The Long Valley Fire started last Tuesday about 2 miles north of the Town of Doyle and it’s been moving east and southeast toward Pyramid Lake since then. The latest estimate is nearly 84,000 acres with 35% containment. Crews have been concentrating their efforts on protecting structures in the path of the fire. The Long Valley Fire is being managed by the BLM.
