A 53-year-old Corning man was struck and killed by a train in Red Bluff Monday morning. Red Bluff Police Officers were called about 10:17AM to the train tracks north of Oak Street between Madison and Monroe Streets to check on a man who was unresponsive. A man was found on the east side of the tracks. A citizen was already on scene and had been attempting CPR until officers took over. The man was unable to be revived, and officers determined he had been struck by a passing train. Officers believe the man was crossing the tracks from the west when he was struck. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
