Woman Struck By Train Remains In Critical Condition

A 26-year-old Corning woman was badly hurt when she was struck by a train. On Sunday Yadara Novoa had been swimming with friends in the Vina area. At 11:45AM she walked alone back to their parked car and along the way she was hit by a southbound Union Pacific freight train. Union Pacific has video footage of the incident, which Tehama County investigators are waiting for to determine how it happened. Novoa suffered severe injuries and remains hospitalized in critical condition.
