A drunk Redding man chose a very unwise place to take a stroll and delayed railroad traffic for an hour Friday night. At around 7:30PM Redding Police responded to reports of a man carrying an alcoholic beverage walking along the train trestle over the Sacramento River. Union Pacific Railroad was notified and they stopped a southbound train that was about to reach the trestle. The man on the tracks, identified as 33-year-old Jason Bryan Painter, walked back and forth for a while before officers were able to get to him. He was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself and he was booked into jail for misdemeanor trespassing on railroad property.
