Shasta County’s unemployment rate saw a slight uptick between June and July. It went from 5.8% to 6.1%, which is still a big improvement from last July’s 7% rate. The great majority of that month-over decline of 1200 jobs was teachers going on Summer break, according to EDD Labor Market Analyst Sheila Stock.
