Mexican Nationals Charged After Large Pot Garden Found In Lassen Forest

Four men from Mexico face federal charges accusing them of growing a large marijuana crop in the Lassen National Forest. Tehama County Sheriff’s Officials joined Forest Service Agents and Fish and Wildlife Officers for a raid on July 31st. About 15,000 marijuana plants were destroyed by the team. There was also a large number of plants the team left alone when they discovered they were contaminated with the dangerous banned pesticide Carbofuran. The four Mexican Citizens found at the grow site were indicted Thursday by a federal grand jury. If convicted, they could face between 10 years and life in federal prison.
