Motorcyclist Injured During Crash On I-5

A motorcyclist suffered major injuries when he rear-ended a car on Interstate 5 Tuesday afternoon. Southbound freeway traffic has been heavy all day as part of the huge exodus of eclipse tourists coming back from Oregon. A little after One O’clock the rider of a 2013 Harley-Davidson FLTRX Mod was southbound a little north of Bonnyview and was going about 65 miles an hour when the big bike rammed the back of a Hyundai, according to CHP Sergeant Annie Garcia.  The impact completely caved in the rear of the car and broke both of the motorcyclist’s legs. The rider was transported to Mercy Medical Center. Although only one of the three lanes was blocked, traffic backed up for more than 6 miles and came to a complete standstill for a while.
