Schools Prepping For “International Walk To School” Day

Shasta County schools are looking ahead to October Fourth’s “International Walk To School Day” and special training is being offered to schools, PTA groups and individual parents that could literally save children’s lives. Last year 14 Shasta County Schools participated.  More kids walking to school means fewer cars around schools, making it that much safer for the kids. Morning exercise also makes them more prepared to concentrate and learn. The safe routes to school program offers vests, cones, printed materials and a special training session next Wednesday September 6th at 5:30PM at Cypress School. Registration should be done by Wednesday at healthyshasta.org or by calling 245-6457.
