Lightning Fire Continue To Grow, New Fire Reported In Dunsmuir

Higher temperatures and lower humidity continue to vex firefighters in the rugged Klamath and Six Rivers National Forests. Three lightning fires west of Happy Camp being managed together as the Eclipse Complex are now at around 65,250 acres, with 24% overall containment. The six fires of the Salmon Complex in the Marble Mountains west of Etna have swelled to more than 20,400 acres with overall containment of 19%. The Orleans Complex of 19 fires in the Six Rivers National Forest has slowed considerably. It’s more than 12,000 acres with overall containment of 51%.

Evacuations advisories have been upgraded to warnings for some homes in Dunsmuir as a fire burns along a ridge over the west side of town. The Bradley Fire started at around 10 O’clock Monday night west of Dunsmuir. It’s estimated at around 50 acres with 25% containment. The Siskiyou County Sheriffs Office issued an evacuation warning for residents along Simpson, Scarlett, Haven, and Goodsell Roads.
