Crews Contain Fire Near Sacramento River

A fire broke out near the Sacramento River’s edge a little north of Anderson Friday morning. The fire was reported at around 10AM at the east end of Latona Road. Cal-Fire Battalion Chief Scott Corn says the fire was contained to about 3 acres, but the material beneath the cottonwoods and blackberries is thick with flood debris and what he calls “river duff”. Corn says the fire is certainly human caused but no specific source was found.
