Buckeye Elementary was briefly locked down on Friday as police searched for a man who reportedly robbed the Dollar Tree Store on Lake Boulevard. About 12:30PM officers were called to the store after employees said a white man walked in and hid merchandise in his clothes before leaving without paying. A clerk confronted him and the suspect brandished a handgun and fled north on Lake Boulevard. He was described a white man about five foot five and weighing about 150 pounds. He was wearing a blue jacket, white patterned shorts, and dark colored shoes. An extensive search was done but the man was not found. Anyone with information is urged to contact Redding Police.
