Crews Working To Contain Fire In The Chalk Mountain Area

A fire burning in Eastern Shasta County has grown to 150 acres, still with zero containment. The Berry Fire was sparked by lightning on Tuesday 5 miles southeast of Big Bend in the Chalk Mountain Area. Ground crews have had a very difficult time getting access to the fire, but aerial resources have been able to hold some of the fire back. Hand crews have been shuttled in by helicopters. Crews are trying to use containment lines from the 2009 Chalk Fire.
