Bystanders Hold Alleged Thief Until Police Arrive

An East Redding nail salon was the target of a bizarre and poorly executed robbery Monday afternoon. Redding Police were called at 3:20PM to Tammy’s Nails near Hartnell and Churn Creek next to the Donut Corner. 35-year-old Joshua Hagar had reportedly walked into the business and picked up the cash register from the counter. He apparently started to run out the door with it but was chased by several employees. Once he got outside he allegedly yelled that he had a gun and threatened to shoot a nearby witness. Seeing his plan fall apart, he then reportedly dropped the cash register and tried to flee on a bicycle but was tackled by bystanders, who held him down until police got there. He was not in possession of a gun.
