A Weaverville woman was killed Tuesday night after the car she was driving was struck by a transit bus in Trinity County. At about 6:30PM 22-year-old Priya Kaur Sandhu pulled her Honda Accord into the Moon Lee Rest Area along Highway 299 and made a u-turn. She stopped the car at the stop sign and as she was pulling back onto Highway 299 the car was struck by a Ford F-450 Trinity Transit bus. The impact pushed both cars off the northbound side of the highway. Priya Sandhu was pronounced dead at the scene. 50-year-old Baidish Kaur Sandhu who was passenger in the Honda suffered major injuries, while a child suffered moderate injuries. 55-year-old Joseph Gilbert Jones was a passenger in the bus and suffered major injuries. Two children on the bus were also injured.
