Congressman Doug LaMalfa announced Wednesday that 500-Thousand Dollars in grant money will be coming to District 1 to fund youth substance abuse programs. Funding for a drug free communications program has been awarded by the Office of National Drug Control Policy. 125-Thousand Dollars will be distributed to Redding, Red Bluff, Chico, and Auburn. The grants will fund local community coalitions to prevent youth substance use including prescription drugs, marijuana, tobacco, and alcohol.
