Men Sought After Pot Deal Robbery

A Cottonwood man was knocked unconscious and robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night while trying to buy marijuana, according to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office. At about 5PM, 20-year-old Cody Shane Wallace went to the TA Truck Stop on Knighton Road to meet someone who had agreed to sell him a half-ounce of pot. Wallace and his girlfriend, Kaylee Potter met with two men in the parking lot. As Wallace was counting out cash from his wallet one of the men demanded that Wallace give him all of the cash in his wallet. The man reportedly brandished a black semi-automatic handgun and pointed it within inches of Wallace’s face. Wallace refused to give him the money, so the 2nd man reportedly punched Wallace in the side of his head. Wallace went unconscious and his girlfriend dragged him by his shirt and got him back in their vehicle before they drove off. The men fled with the money in a white 4 door sedan with a black spoiler. Potter drove Wallace back to their home in Anderson and they waited several hours before reporting the robbery. One of the suspects is described as black man who is about 19-year-old. He is about 6 Foot One with black hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt and tan pants. The other suspect is also a young black man who is about 18-year-old and about 6 Foot tall. He has black hair with dreadlocks. Both men are considered armed and dangerous.
