Fire Restrictions Lifted On Lassen National Forest

Despite an early Fall warm up, fire restrictions on the Lassen National Forest have been lifted. The forest announced that as of last Friday that all fire restrictions have been lifted. That means that visitors can again have campfires outside of developed campgrounds and recreation sites, although burn permits are still required. The “Hoot Owl” Provision has also been lifted which allows chainsaw to be used after 1PM. Woodcutters must still have permits and tags, and their chainsaws must have spark arresters. For information on permits call 275-2151.
