A head-on crash closed Airport Road Wednesday afternoon. At around 3:30PM a black Chevy pickup driven by 32-year-old Daniel Shelby was northbound approaching Fig Tree Lane and he slowed to make a left turn toward Ment’s Meats when he was rear-ended by 22-year-old Northrea Jones in a Buick. The impact pushed the pickup into the path of a southbound white Chevy pickup driven by 79-year-old Richard Ramirez. Shelby and Ramirez were transported to Mercy Hospital. Airport Road was closed for nearly 2 hours.
