Two Arrested For Attempted Murder After Teen Injured In Shooting

The Redding Police SWAT Team made two arrests Wednesday in connection to a shooting that left a 19-year-old with a gunshot wound to the leg. In the early morning hours of September 23rd, Tristan Taylor showed up to the emergency room at Shasta Regional with a gunshot wound to his leg. Investigators say that at the time witnesses provided conflicting reports. Over the past two weeks investigators found evidence that identified 18-year-old Chad Tomblin and 22-year-old Sean Magana as suspects. The RPD SWAT Team went to 2199 Princeton Way Wednesday and arrested Tomblin. They also served a search warrant at 1024 Nighthawk Lane and arrested Magana. Police determined that the two had went to the Winco parking lot on the 23rd in the early morning hours to meet Tristan Taylor and some friends to sell them narcotics. During the transaction something apparently went wrong, so Taylor and his friends fled. They drove onto Highway 44 and got off at the Sundial Bridge exit with Tomblin and Magana in pursuit. The chase went into Downtown Redding and apparently numerous shots were fired at the vehicle that Taylor was in. One of the rounds penetrated the vehicle and struck Taylor. Police are charging Tomblin and Magana with attempted homicide.
