Oregon Man Arrested In Stolen Car Early Friday Morning

A Lojack device led to the recovery of a stolen car following a chase early Friday morning. At 1AM a Redding Police Officer with a Lojack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System in his patrol car got an alert. Within a few minutes he narrowed the search down and located the car with the tracking device heading west on Lake Boulevard near Market Street. He tried to pull the car over but the driver sped away at 80 miles an hour. He tried to get away but took a wrong turn onto Clay Street then Buckeye Terrace and then the dead end of Dogwood Lane, where he drove the car down a steep ravine and got stuck in dense brush. A perimeter was set up with help from a CHP helicopter and eventually officers found 42-year-old Shawn Cunningham of Klamath Falls and arrested him for possession of a stolen car, possession of heroin , evading and resisting arrest.
