Both recreational and medical users of marijuana in the City of Redding will have to wait and see if their use of cannabis will be legitimized by the city council. Things are still up in the air, even after a nearly two hour discussion Tuesday night. Although the council generally moved toward allowing dispensary businesses, it may still be April or May before they can begin selling product. The council also approved in concept asking voters if they wish to tax marijuana, with the money to be used for public safety.
