A small market south of Redding was robbed Tuesday night. At 7:38PM a silent holdup alarm was activated at the Riverland Market on Riverland Drive south of Knighton Road. Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputies responded and found that a man had come into the store and distracted the clerk, then overpowered him and demanded that he open the cash register drawer. The clerk did so and the man grabbed the cash and left. He was last seen running northbound along Riverland Drive. The robber was wearing a clown mask to conceal his face. The area was searched with help from a CHP helicopter, but the robber was not found.
