Authorities Remove Over 2-Thousand Pounds Of Trash From Redding Trail System

More than a ton of trash was collected and more than a dozen arrests were made during a city-wide sweep of Redding’s parks and trails Thursday afternoon. Redding Police were assisted by Anderson Police and Shasta County Probation as they covered most of the Redding trail system on bicycles and dirt bikes. 15 people were arrested on outstanding warrants, one for a parole violation and one for camping.  2,360 pounds of trash, in addition to a load of 13 shopping carts, was hauled away from illegal homeless camps. More than 1300 pounds of that trash came from alongside the Dana to Downtown trail alone. The RPD postings, including many photos, are on the KQMS Facebook page.
