NPU Arrests Convicted Child Molester At Redding Mobile Home Park

A convicted child molester has been arrested in Redding. The investigation began with complaints by a neighborhood watch group at the Mountain Shadows Mobile Home Park off Lake Boulevard. They had reported a nuisance resident on Little Deer Lane involving drug use, heavy traffic, noise, fights and intimidation. The resident, 21-year-old Dylan Michael Carpenter, has been convicted in Tehama County of committing felony sexual acts against a 7-and-8-year-old child. He was sentenced to 6 years in prison, but his sentence was suspended on the condition that he complete his probation without violations. The rules included having no access to images of children and having no access to social media. Redding’s Neighborhood Police Unit learned that Carpenter had been allowing a group of drug addicts to occupy his home. Friday they searched and found an elementary school yearbook, which carpenter allegedly admitted he had been using for his own sexual gratification. He also apparently had multiple social media accounts. Carpenter has been booked into jail and his probation will be under review.
