A prescribed fire is planned on state property near Whitmore. About 80 acres will be torched in the Latour Demonstration State Forest about 13 miles east of Whitmore. The Cal-Fire burn is intended to reduce fuel loading and train firefighters. The burn will only be done if weather conditions are just right between Wednesday and Friday.
