Coroner IDS Men Killed In Separate Train Accidents

Both of the men killed by locomotives Sunday night and Monday morning have been identified by the Shasta County Coroner’s Office. Both in their late-20’s, they died less than 5-and-a-half hours apart within a few miles of each other. 27-year-old Joseph Martin Anaya of Anderson was struck Sunday night at 11:45PM near the North Street railroad crossing in Anderson. 29-year-old Kile Anthony Ryant of Cottonwood was struck Monday morning just after 5AM near the intersection of Trade Way and Williams Lane in Cottonwood. Both of the victims’ next-of-kin has been notified of their passing. Autopsies are planned for both of them.
