Deputies: Man Admits To Firing Shots To Scare People

A Trinity County man is accused of using a gun to punctuate an argument in the parking lot of a Weaverville market. Deputies were called at 5:30PM Wednesday afternoon to Top’s Super Foods on reports that Jason Jones was shooting at some people. When deputies and CHP Officers arrived Jones was gone. A short time later deputies were told that Jones was hiding in his car on Levy Road. He was then taken into custody without a struggle. The gun allegedly used was also seized. During questioning Jones reportedly admitted he had fired off the gun to frighten some people with whom he had had an ongoing argument. He was booked into jail on several felony charges.
