Search Warrant Uncovers Gun Machining Equipment

A search of a home just west of Redding turned up a couple of dangerous and illegal industrial enterprises, according to the Shasta Interagency Narcotics Task Force. On Saturday drug agents served a search warrant at a house on Keswick Dam Road, expecting to find Jonathan Marshall of Sonoma County, but he wasn’t there. They did report finding an elaborate indoor hydroponics marijuana growing operation that occupied the entire basement. Pounds and pounds of ground up marijuana were found in bags in the house and in storage coolers on the patio. In the back yard was a sophisticated commercial grade closed loop butane honey oil extraction system that was in the mid-stage of processing a batch of concentrated cannabis. More than a pound of honey oil was recovered from the system and inside the house. It took almost 5 hours to dismantle the various components. It wasn’t just a hash lab though. One of the bedrooms was reportedly set up with machining equipment for manufacturing AR-15 style assault rifles. There was one finished gun and 3 others in various stages of completion, as well as thousands of rounds of ammunition and more than a dozen 30 round magazines. Jonathan Marshall’s location is unknown and he’s being sought by the sheriff’s office.
