Texas Man Sentenced To 7 Years For 2016 DUI Crash

A 25-year-old man from Texas will be in California for a while after being sentenced for felony drunk driving following a head-on collision in Tehama County. On the afternoon of February 23rd last year Christian Michael hall was driving a new Nissan Sentra northbound on Highway 99 just north of Childs Avenue in the Dairyville area. The CHP says he was going about 65 miles an hour and witnesses had seen him drift across the centerline multiple times. The last time he crossed the line he ran head-on into a 1997 Toyota driven by 65-year-old Paula Angel of Redding, with passenger 58-year-old Ron Angel. The two cars hit left headlight to left headlight. Everyone was wearing seatbelts and airbags deployed, but Paula suffered major injuries and was flown to Enloe Hospital in Chico. The other two were taken by ground ambulance and Hall was arrested. He tested positive for alcohol, marijuana and opiates. Hall was convicted of felony DUI causing injury with 2 special allegations. He’s been sentenced to 7 years in state prison and must pay restitution to the angels for their losses.
