Nevada Man Ejected During Crash On Highway 36

A man from Nevada was badly injured in a rollover Friday afternoon in Eastern Trinity County. 29-year-old Randal Bowman Jr. was driving a GMC SUV on Highway 36 with 3 passengers, including an 8-year-old boy. About 15 miles west of Platina, Bowman lost control on the wet and windy mountain road. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled multiple times as it tumbled down into a steep canyon. Bowman was the only one who was not wearing a seatbelt and he was ejected during the rollover. He suffered multiple injuries, including a broken femur, a broken hip and lacerations to his face. He was flown by CHP helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Redding. The 3 passengers all had minor injuries, mostly cuts and scrapes to their faces.
