DUI Checkpoint Planned For Friday Night

Working with a state grant, Redding Police will send the message that “DUI Doesn’t Just Mean Booze” as they conduct a sobriety checkpoint Friday night. Drug impaired driving has increased tremendously in recent years, and the penalty is the same as drunk driving.  Officers will screen for drunk drivers, as well as those impaired by prescription drugs and marijuana. They’ll also be checking for valid drivers licenses. The checkpoint is set for Friday evening. The locations are never announced ahead of time, but it’ll be somewhere within Redding city limits.
