18-Year-Old Arrested After Stabbing In Red Bluff Area

An arrest was made in the Red Bluff area for an assault that nobody wanted to talk about, according to the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office. Just after Midnight Sunday night deputies were sent to Byron Road on reports that 18-year-old Chancelor Kaufman had a knife that he was using to threaten 19-year-old Vernon Cary. When deputies arrived on scene Kaufman had already left. Cary was suffering from a non-life-threatening cut to his abdomen. Deputies and Red Bluff Police Officers caught up to Kaufman a short time later and he was booked into jail for assault with a deadly weapon.  The reason for the conflict is not known.
